This course is for you if you have a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence. Before attending, participants should be familiar with basic AI concepts, including what AI is, how it differs from traditional software and common applications in business or creative industries. While no coding experience is required, familiarity with AI terminology (e.g., “machine learning,” “neural networks”) and experience using at least one generative AI tool (such as ChatGPT, DALL·E, or a similar platform) is recommended.

Britt O’Meara
Britt O’Meara is a First-Year Writing Instructor at Boise State University and a consultant specializing in the ethical and intentional adoption of AI. Britt has supported hundreds of educators and industry professionals in establishing ethical frameworks for responsible AI use. She holds an MA in English Literature and a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies, combining English, Printmaking and Nonprofit Business, with a minor in English Literature. Her diverse professional experience as an Education Director for a housing nonprofit and as a freelance front-end web developer, illustrator and writer informs her interdisciplinary approach to ethical innovation, blending creativity, technology and social impact.
Jenny Lawrence
Jenny Lawrence is an adjunct in the First Year Writing department at Boise State University and holds a doctorate in Educational Leadership specializing in pedagogy related to responding to generative AI. Her work focuses on equipping professionals with strategies to navigate the ethical implications of AI technology while leveraging its potential to improve decision-making, critical thinking, innovation and collaboration. Grounded in an Ethic of Care framework, Jenny focuses on practical AI that prioritizes equity and ethical use to empower individuals and organizations to adapt confidently in an AI-driven world.
