You will learn how to clean and prep your data, including:
- New and improved tools, like the “UnPivot”, “Split Text to Rows” and “Date Transformations”
- Extract data from various file types and a website table
- Create conditional columns similar to IF functions in Excel
- Backup your Power Query code for safekeeping
So you will be able to:
- Reuse your Power Query multiple times without rebuilding it
- Adjust and tweak the steps in plain English (no programming experience necessary)
- Review Power Query steps from start to finish to understand how it was designed
Prerequisite
It is preferred – but not required – that you attend the Microsoft Excel Level 3 data analysis course, which assures you fully understand Pivot Tables and data summaries.
The ideal participant would be in a job position that requires data analysis and/or data preparation. This person would be a daily user of Excel and has been tasked to move beyond Excel’s capabilities.
