Advanced Data Analysis with Power BI, Lab 3

Data Models and DAX Measures

Power BI reports are the cornerstone of data reporting, messaging and decision-making. This is the higher-end side of Power BI where we begin to ask questions and solve problems outside of the raw data set.

You will learn:

  • Create DAX measures
  • Group fields within a data table
  • Repair a data model relationship problem
  • Publish your report to MS Workspaces

So you will be able to:

  • Navigate to the model section of Power BI and understand the table layout and interaction
  • Use the DAX formula bar and functionality to create a custom DAX measure
  • Use the quick measure feature to find pre-designed calculations
  • Publish a final report and review the features for auto-refresh and other insights
