Presenters
Kimberly Hudson is a seasoned project manager with over 15 years of experience managing private and public sector projects. She currently works as a project manager with Northwest Lineman College where she manages projects across the organization, from IT to construction to curriculum. Prior to joining Northwest Lineman College, Kimberly worked at Boise State University for over 15 years, where her project management focus was on small and large-scale IT projects. Kimberly has an MBA from Boise State, is a PMI-certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is a PROSCI Certified Change Practitioner.
Dan Cacioppo is a proud Boise State alumni! He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management in 2008. His experience includes all aspects of Project Management with experience in Transmission, IT, Engineering, Education, and Construction. He obtained his Professional Project Management PMI Certification in 2018 and is Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified. From siting transmission line locations all over the remote western United States to building a training facility in Puerto Rico, Dan’s experience and project management careers have taken him to many unique places. He thrives on asking hard questions in order to root out the main issue or goal to better serve each organization and project he is faced with. Dan is currently working as a Senior Estimator with a local general contractor/construction management firm, HC Company. When not teaching, or working Dan can most often be found driving a rural Idaho road, fishing an Idaho stream, and spending time with his family.

Fundamentals
Project managers need to identify requirements, define budgets and schedules, and then manage a project team to accomplish those requirements with limited resources, with a defined budget and in a defined schedule. Even the best organization managers need to learn different skills to successfully complete even small projects, and this class will give you those skills.

- Use the project activity plan to manage your project
- Identify and manage the stakeholders and form the project team
- Use data to know your project’s status, manage the project and report to stakeholders

- Create and understand a stakeholder registry as well as form your project team
- Gather requirements from stakeholders using a variety of different methods
- Use the activity plan to track and report on your project’s progress

- Identify and manage the risks that threaten your project’s success
Develop Your “Toolkit” of Proven Project Management Tools
Successful project managers use a variety of tools to bring projects to a successful conclusion: documents, templates, processes, techniques and more, that the project manager can pull out of their “toolkit” and use on the project.
This class introduces project managers to many tools they can use in their projects and gives the project managers insights and practice in using those tools. Participants will learn about tools such as a project charter, requirements analysis, risk assessments, the essential earned value management and others to manage all aspects of a project.

This class introduces project managers to a number of advanced project management techniques that they can draw from throughout their careers. Building on foundational project management skills, this course explores popular project management methods related to project prioritization, vendor management, Agile project management, continuous improvement processes like Lean and Six Sigma and facilitating organizational change. Project managers will gain confidence that they can draw from a more diverse set of skills to tailor their project management approach to meet complex project management challenges.
