Scholarships

The Osher Institute believes the opportunity to participate in our rich intellectual community should be available to anyone. Individuals in need may apply for an annual scholarship, and may do so for two consecutive years. Scholarships are available to adults over age 50 whose financial situation prevents participation without scholarship assistance.

Two options are available to select from, based upon an individual’s needs:

Full Scholarship Option: Includes annual membership (value of $100), valid for one academic year, plus one free fee-based course each semester (value of up to $45 per course) and access to all other free and included programs and events.

Partial Scholarship Option: $30 toward the annual membership fee. Payment for the remainder of the membership balance is due at the time of membership activation. Member will receive lectures and programs that are indicated as “Included with membership” at no cost. Programs with fees indicated are the responsibility of the member.

Both scholarship options include the usual benefits of membership:

  • Annual parking permit.
  • Access to register for Special Interest Groups (SIGs).
  • Invitation to monthly Casual Coffee Socials with the Osher Director.
  • Invitation to Osher social events, including the Fall Open House, Winter Holiday Celebration, and Spring Picnic.

Please note: Scholarships are not available for fee-based special events, special programs, or travel.
