The Humanities and Social Sciences Initiative at Boise State University presents “De/Militarized Ecologies: Making Peace With Nature Along the Korean DMZ” with Dr. Eleana J. Kim on October 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the Boise State Hemingway Building, Room 110. This event is free and no registration is required.
Dr. Kim is a cultural anthropologist whose research and writing are organized around core anthropological concerns with nature and culture and the biological and the social in the production of personhood and social value. Her recent book, Making Peace Through Nature: Ecological Encounters Along the Korean DMZ explores the complex and contradictory history of the DMZ and its ecological importance.
