Sven Buerki, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Boise State, and fellow researchers have discovered the sagebrush genome based on big sagebrush originating from the Owyhee Mountains of Idaho. This milestone, like the Human Genome Project, will help in the understanding of sagebrush traits, genetic characteristics, and diseases.
