We are committed to supporting you throughout your first year at Boise State! We hope to see you at New Student Orientation on January 10th, 2025. Until then, check out our resources below as you prepare for orientation and classes to begin.
Key Dates to Calendar:
- January 10 – New Student Orientation
- January 13 – First day of spring 2025 classes
- January 13 to February 21 – Bronco Welcome Events
Make sure to complete the following items:
- Register for New Student Orientation on January 10, 2025.
- Finalize your class schedule. You can view your class schedule on myBoiseState. You’re expected to finalize your class schedule each semester. If you’re on a waitlist, once a seat becomes available, you will automatically be added to the course and notified via BroncoMail. If you want to drop an unwanted course, do it as soon as possible so other students can add the courses they need. See the orange cards below for a link to financial aid deadlines.
- Pay tuition and fees. Boise State does not mail paper bills, but you can check your fees due on myBoiseState. On myBoiseState, select “Student Center” on your homepage. Navigate to the Finance Section in Student Center, select “Make a payment” and follow the directions. If you want a family member to access the bill pay portal to pay bills and view your tax information, you can add a payer user account on myBoiseState. “Parent Login Instructions” are located just below the sign-in button. This proxy designation does not replace the Release of Information or Authorization to Disclose Protected Health Information.
- Buy books and course materials. Shopping at the Boise State University Bookstore, either online or in person, is the most convenient way to purchase books. The Bookstore provides new and used books, as well as a textbook rental program. There’s also an online price comparison feature so you know you are getting the best deal. For more information about textbooks, ebooks, buy-back programs, and more, visit Boise State Bookstore.
- Buy a parking permit. If you plan to park on campus, you need to purchase a parking permit. Prices vary depending on where you choose to park. If you plan to bike, learn more about the Cycle Learning Center. You can also get around campus and the Boise community for free via university shuttles and the Valley Ride bus system with a valid campus ID and bus sticker.
- Mark your calendar and plan to attend Bronco Welcome, a 6 week-long series of events during the first few weeks of classes to welcome you to Boise State University. Get involved, make friends, and be inspired!
- The Basics. It’s easier to focus on your studies when you have your basic needs squared away – like any of the topics above or even where to find help when you need it. Start here.

Bronco Welcome Events
New Student Programs and the Student Involvement and Leadership Center have coordinated a variety of events in the first six weeks of classes to make sure you find community and get acclimated to campus.
These events are a great launchpad for new students who are seeking opportunities to get involved on campus and are unsure of where they can start. All events are family-friendly.
