    Dr. Jelena Pokimica

    Lab Director

    Dr. Pokimica holds a PhD in Human Resource Development (HRD) from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has amassed a variety of multicultural experiences having lived or studied in France, Serbia, Denmark, and Hong Kong. While at Illinois, she was involved in numerous research projects funded by NSF, NIH, and other federal agencies, as well as local agencies. Example projects centered around STEM education and leadership programs for undergraduate and graduate students and transfer of learned skills to the job. Dr. Pokimica’s teaching endeavors have encompassed a suite of foundational to advanced courses in OPWL/HRD, examples of which are Foundations of OPWL, Instructional Design, Facilitation Skills, Interviews and Data Analysis. She has provided consultations and mentoring for student groups
    projects in her courses in partnership with various industries. Dr. Pokimica’s lab will continue to offer these and similar mentorship opportunities for students, as well as engagements in relevant projects which both she and the students would like to realize with new external partners (besides existing partners).
