Advanced Standing Master of Social Work Online Curriculum

Full-Time Program (37 credits)

The Advanced Standing Master of Social Work Online is designed for students who earned a bachelor’s in social work from a CSWE-accredited program within the last five years. Students who earned a bachelor’s in social work from a CSWE-accredited program within the last 10 years are also eligible with significant post-bachelor’s social work practice experience.

The advanced standing track consists of 25 credits of academic classes, labs and seminars and 12 credits (600 clock hours) of supervised, in-person practicum. These 37 credits can be completed in 12 months if enrolled as a full-time student. Part-time coursework is also available.

First Semester (12 Credits)

  • 529 Research and Statistics for Social Work (3 cr)

Second Seven Weeks:

  • 506 Program Leadership and Management (3 cr)
  • 532 Advanced Research: Program & Practice Evaluation (3 cr)

Second Semester (12 Credits)

All Semester:

  • 575 Advanced Social Work Practicum I (5 cr)
  • 577 Advanced Practicum Seminar I (1 cr)

First Seven Weeks:

  • 550 Advanced Interventions I: Comparative Theories (3 cr)

Second Seven Weeks:

  • 526 The Evaluation & Treatment of Mental Disorders (3 cr)

Third Semester (13 Credits)

All Semester:

  • 576 Advanced Social Work Practicum II (5 cr)
  • 578 Advanced Practicum Seminar II (1 cr)

First Seven Weeks:

  • 525 Advanced Social Work Interventions II: Individuals & Families (3 cr)
  • Elective (2 cr)

Second Seven Weeks:

  • Elective (2 cr)
