Non-Degree Seeking Students

Are you looking to take advantage of Boise State University’s expert faculty, flexible schedule and low, discounted per-credit rates?  Perhaps you are looking to take a class and transfer it back to your home institution?

If you would like to take classes, but not pursue a degree – you can apply as a non degree-seeking student.

Learn more about non-degree seeking status here. (Non-degree students are not eligible for financial aid)

If you are looking to enroll in a course with a prerequisite, you will need a permission number from the academic department to enroll.  Watch this step-by-step video on how to get and use permission numbers.

Getting Started

1. Apply for Admission to Boise State

Undergraduate Admissions

If you want to take undergraduate-level courses either as a degree-seeking or non-degree student.

If you want to take graduate-level classes as either a degree-seeking or non-degree student.

Register for Summer Classes

Once you are admitted to Boise State, have your username and set your password, are to select the classes you want, and then register online through your myBoiseState student account. Step-by-step directions for registering online are here.

3. Pay Fees

Please note that some courses have extra fees (lab, workshop, telecommunication) in addition to regular per-credit course fees. Please check the course schedule and verify fees at your time of registration.
