The Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BSW) offers 100% online coursework paired with in-person field work in your local area, allowing you to gain hands-on experience while maintaining flexibility in your schedule.
Through a mix of readings, discussions and real-world case studies, you’ll build the skills you need for social work practice. Hands-on learning activities like role-playing and recorded session analysis help you apply what you learn, while independent research and experiential projects deepen your understanding.
Social Work Degree Requirements
The online Bachelor of Arts in Social Work is a 120-credit program that includes the following:
- Required Courses – 53 credits.
- Electives – 30 credits.
- University Foundations Courses – 37 credits. University Foundations courses are required to earn a bachelor’s degree from Boise State. These foundation courses may be met through transfer coursework or will be incorporated into your degree plan at Boise State. Must include PSYC 101 and SOCWRK 101.
