Viviana Correa, who earned her Bachelor in Business Administration in Management with a Certificate in Project Management, credits Boise State’s online program for its flexibility. “Although I still had strict due dates, I could do my assignments when it was most convenient for me,” she shared.

As a mother, Correa’s educational journey was about more than earning a degree.

“I’m a big believer that your children will grow up to do what you do, and if I want them to achieve their goals, they need to see me achieve mine,” she explained.

Reflecting on her experience, she said, “I’d like to thank the university’s staff and faculty. I always felt valued and heard, which is a huge indicator of how I want to be as a leader.” Looking ahead, Correa plans to pursue her MBA and create a more diverse workplace. “I see business through a different lens, which allows me to make informed decisions on and off the job.”

Starting his career as a laborer and rising to become a superintendent by age 26, Salas’s journey was shaped by persistence and determination.

“The road has been challenging, but I now see the doors that are starting to open for me and my family,” he shared.

Salas’s experience at Boise State has given him renewed strength and focus. “My MBA journey was tough, but it’s prepared me to pursue my goals with confidence,” he added.

Earning her degree has been a long-time dream.

Joseph Turman, who earned his Bachelor of Applied Science in Cyber Operations and Resilience, discovered a new direction for his career through his degree. “The main way my life has changed is the direction I want to take my career. I plan to transition from the infrastructure team at my job to the cybersecurity team,” he said.

Turman particularly enjoyed his capstone project, where he worked with classmates and the Idaho Army National Guard to identify vulnerabilities in a state agency’s network. “The degree sparked a passion for offensive cybersecurity that I plan to further explore,” he explained. Looking forward, Turman plans to enroll in a master’s program after a brief break.
