Organization Performance and Workplace Learning (OPWL) faculty member Dr. Lisa Giacumo was awarded the Exceptional Service Award from the Culture, Technology, and Learning (CTL) division of the Association of Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) at its November 2021 conference in Chicago, IL. The CLT Exceptional Service Award honors and individual for outstanding leadership and service in the Culture, Learning and Technology Division for at least three years.
Dr. Giacumo was introduced to AECT during her first year of doctoral study at Arizona State University in 2007. She has been an active member in the CLT division for about 6 years and currently serves as the V.P. of Professional Development on the CLT board. In this role, she supports the operation of the CTL Division, which has involved conducting a needs assessment, facilitating webinars, making presentations for the division at the annual conference, as well as, serving on the equity and social justice task force. In that capacity, Dr. Giacumo co-authored AECT’s response to last year’s violence against marginalized communities.
