Bronco-Guest is not a secure wireless network and is intended for short-term internet access for guests and friends of the University. Boise State students, faculty, and staff should instead use the eduroam WiFi network.

Frequently Asked Questions
Bronco-Guest
How do I register a device that does not have a web interface (e.g., game console, Apple TV, etc.)?
Use the device registration link and sign in using your regular Boise State username and password.
You will need your device’s MAC address for registration. If you don’t know the MAC address, please contact the Help Desk (see contact info below).
You may register up to five devices per person.
What other wireless options do I have?
eduroam is the University’s secure, encrypted wireless network intended for regular use by students, faculty and staff. If you aren’t a guest on campus, you should use eduroam.
Learn how to connect to the eduroam wireless network.
If I’m registering my device, does that mean Bronco-Guest is secure?
Registration is different from authentication. You won’t need to log in or be asked to enter any passwords to access Bronco-Guest with a registered device, but you will need to agree to terms and conditions and provide a valid email address and phone number in order to use the wireless network.
Bronco-Guest still remains an unrestricted and unsecured network.
I entered my email address, but didn’t receive an email.
If you selected to receive your credentials via email and did not receive an email message, check your spam folder.
You can also restart the self-registration process and choose to receive a text message with your credentials instead of an email.
If you still don’t receive an email (or are unable to receive a text message) with Bronco-Guest credentials, please contact the Help Desk (see contact info below).
How long does my Bronco-Guest registration last?
Successful registration gives you access for seven days. After that time, you will need to restart the self-registration process in order to use Bronco-Guest.
I’m trying to use eduroam, but my device keeps defaulting to Bronco-Guest.
The best way to force your device to connect to eduroam is by telling it to “forget” the Bronco-Guest network.
Please refer to the instructions for your specific device on how to forget a network, or contact the Help Desk (see contact info below).
How do I register multiple checkout or classroom devices?
Please contact the Help Desk to bulk register checkout/classroom devices (see contact info below).
Why can’t I use BitTorrent?
BitTorrent is unavailable on Boise State campus networks.
