You can configure other email clients if you don’t wish to use Gmail for your email.
However, we discourage the use of other email clients because of the possibility an official University email message will be blocked or otherwise missed.
Also, university policy requires students to read all official email sent from Boise State email addresses.
Configure Mail (macOS) or Outlook (Windows or macOS)
Mail (macOS)
- Click “Mail” on the menu bar.
- Click “Add Account…”
- When prompted for an account type, choose “Google”, then “Continue”
- You will be prompted for an email address, then taken to a standard Boise State sign-in page. You must provide Duo authentication, and then approve the security change.
Outlook (macOS)
- Click “Tools” on the menu bar.
- Click “Accounts…”
- Click “+” at the bottom of the list of Accounts.
- You will be prompted for an email address, then taken to a standard Boise State sign-in page. You must provide Duo authentication, and then approve the security change.
Outlook (Windows)
- Click “File”
- Click “+ Add Account”
- You will be prompted for an email address, then taken to a standard Boise State sign-in page. You must provide Duo authentication, and then approve the security change.
