Configure Mobile Devices for Gmail and Google Workspace

Learn how to configure and access your Google Workspace content on phones, tablets, and computers.

For the best experience, we recommend Google’s native Gmail app. The Gmail app is pre-installed on Android and available for free on the App Store.

Instructions for configuring the Gmail app are below, along with instructions for iPhone users who choose to use the native Mail app included in iOS.

iOS and Android Instructions

iOS

Gmail App on iOS

  1. On your Apple mobile device, download the Gmail app from the App Store.
  2. Open the Gmail app.
  3. Click “Sign In”.
  4. Choose “Google”.
  5. When prompted, enter your BroncoMail email address, including @u.boisestate.edu (student email) or @boisestate.edu (staff email).
  6. Sign in using your Boise State username and password when prompted.
  7. Approve the login with Duo Security.

Mail App on iOS

  1. On the Home Screen of your Apple mobile device, choose “Settings“.
  2. In the Settings list, locate and choose “Mail”.
  3. Choose “Accounts”.
  4. Choose “Add Account”.
  5. Choose “Google”.
  6. When prompted, enter your BroncoMail email address, including @u.boisestate.edu (student email) or @boisestate.edu (staff email).
  7. Sign in using your Boise State username and password when prompted.
  8. Approve the login with Duo Security.
  9. Choose to activate this account for mail. (Alternatively, you may choose Calendar and use your BroncoMail calendar in the iOS Calendar app.)
  10. Return to the home screen to open the Mail app.
  11. Wait momentarily for your mail to appear.

Android

Gmail App on Android

  1. On your Android device, open your Gmail app.
  2. Click the Account icon in the upper right.
  3. Choose “Add another account”.
  4. Choose “Google”.
  5. When prompted, enter your BroncoMail email address, including @u.boisestate.edu (student email) or @boisestate.edu (staff email).
  6. Sign in using your Boise State username and password when prompted.
  7. Approve the login with Duo Security.
