About Mail Merge in Gmail
Mail Merge in Boise State Gmail allows you to populate a list of contacts from a spreadsheet in order to send emails.
Restrictions
- Mail Merge is only active on the @boisestate.edu faculty/staff domain.
- You may only send messages to individuals with @boisestate.edu email addresses when using Gmail Mail Merge.
- You may send to a maximum of 1,500 recipients per day. Boise State Gmail accounts have a daily send limit of 2,000 messages; the 1,500-recipient daily limit for mail merge ensures that you can still send up to 500 normal messages per day and not exceed the 2,000-per-day limit.
- Gmail’s Mail Merge feature is governed by University Policy 8100 (Institutional Messaging). Do not send mass email messages without ensuring you are complying with policy.
- If you need to send email to more than 1,500 recipients, see our “Tips for Sending Bulk Email” page.
