Google Workspace Quotas for Students and Alumni Coming October 1

The Office of Information Technology previously announced that Google no longer offers unlimited storage for Google Workspace for Education accounts.

To help control the rate at which stored data is increasing, Google Workspace quotas will be implemented for students and alumni on Tuesday, October 1. (Faculty and staff quotas were implemented in May.)

The storage quotas will be:

  • 100 GB for current students
  • 15 GB for alumni

These limits are higher than the majority of student and alumni accounts on campus. If you are currently using more than the quotas, you have received emails from us with more information about your usage and a request to reduce your storage.

Please be aware that once you reach the quota, you will lose the ability to save new files and to make edits to existing ones. The ability to send and receive email will not be affected.

View or manage your storage in Google Drive

You can find tips on how to clean up your Drive and Gmail, instructions for requesting more storage, plus other FAQs, on OIT’s website.
