Beginning Tuesday, September 24, Duo Security multi-factor authentication will require verified push notifications for all accounts, including students. Faculty and staff have been using verified push since July.
When prompted to authenticate on or after the 24th, you will be asked to enter a 4-digit code into the Duo mobile app instead of tapping Approve or Deny.
We know this is an added step, but this additional security helps protect against “push harassment” or “push fatigue,” tactics used by cybercriminals to gain unauthorized access to systems.
