Google Workspace Quotas Coming May 21

The Office of Information Technology previously announced that Google no longer offers unlimited storage for Google Workspace for Education accounts. While Boise State has adequate storage at this time, stored data is increasing at a substantial rate. To help control this increase, Google Workspace quotas will be implemented on Tuesday, May 21.

The default storage quota will be 100 GB.

This storage limit is higher than the majority of accounts on campus. If you are currently using more than 100 GB, please refer to the email we sent to you on either April 9 or May 14.

Please be aware that once you reach the quota, you will lose the ability to save new files and to make edits to existing ones. The ability to send and receive email will not be affected.

To view or manage your storage in Google Drive, visit https://drive.google.com/drive/quota.

There are options for additional storage, should you need more space in the future.

You can find tips on how to clean up your Drive and Gmail, instructions for requesting more storage, plus other FAQs, on OIT’s website.
