Academic Advisor
Kayla Henry joined Boise State University’s School of Nursing in March of 2024. Kayla comes from a first-generation background and is a proud alumna of Western Kentucky University. There, she earned her undergraduate degree in Social Work and completed an internship with WKU’s Student Accessibility Resource Center. There, she guided students through the accommodations process, raised awareness for Disability Awareness Month on the news, and managed the front desk. She also has experience in philanthropy work where she helped raise funds to support students. After graduating, she worked as an Office Coordinator at a doctor’s office where she wore many hats and worked closely with patients. Her leadership experience includes training student workers at WKU and serving as the president of the Delta Mu Chapter of Phi Alpha Honor Society for the 2021/2022 academic year. She was awarded the Outstanding BSW Student Award for WKU’s main campus in 2022.
In her leisure time, she enjoys playing with her cat, creative writing, attending hockey games, and reading. She is originally from the south, so traveling is a big love of hers as well.
Kayla is passionate about making sure every student feels welcomed in the Boise State community and helping guide them to academic success.
