Personal Statement
A personal statement that introduces yourself. Your statement should outline your educational goals and your long-term professional goals for the admission committee. Limit your statement to no more than 500 words. This statement will be evaluated for the quality of both the content and writing style (i.e. grammar, punctuation, spelling, word use) and must: a) Explain why you have chosen the BS-DNP program at Boise State University b) Clearly explain the advanced practice nursing role you seek to fulfill following graduation.
Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Resume or curriculum vitae that includes any applicable specialty certifications and information regarding your work experience as a registered nurse (RN).
Nursing License
Proof of a valid and unencumbered nursing license.
Letters of Recommendation
Three letters of recommendation from nursing faculty members, professional healthcare colleagues, or work supervisors who can evaluate your potential for success in a graduate program. Recommendations from family, friends, other students, or co-workers are not appropriate.
International Applicants
Submit official TOEFL or IELTS scores
Interview
Final candidates will be invited for a video interview. Interviews will be conducted with highly-competitive candidates.
Review Process
Each completed application is reviewed by the admissions committee. If at any point during the review process an application warrants a second review based on received application material(s), the application is sent to an additional faculty member who independently reviews the application material(s) and makes a recommendation to the admissions committee.
