Amber Sherman

Amber Sherman presented a poster at the Open Education Conference Oct. 10-12 in Niagara Falls, NY.

Her poster, “Open Educational Resources Available by Discipline,” shared visualizations developed from a variety of data: Grouping available OER by discipline (business, computer and information science, education, health and related, liberal arts and sciences, natural sciences, professional and social sciences).

The Babson Survey Research Group’s 2017 survey revealed that 47 percent of faculty think there are too few open education resources (OER) for their subject area. Finding ways to visualize OER that are available by discipline may help counter faculty opinion and guide more productive searches for the OER that already exists.
