Boise State University will celebrate the beginning of construction on the $50 million Micron Center for Materials Research with a groundbreaking ceremony at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 3.
The Micron Technology Foundation Inc. pledged $25 million to help build the center. The building will provide the space needed to continue growing expertise in the manufacture of technologies using nanomaterials on an industrial scale, as well as elevate the work of Boise State research faculty who already are nationally and internationally recognized for their work in the areas of novel materials, biological sciences and nanotechnology.
The program will include Micron and Boise State officials, and the campus community is invited to attend.
