Alternative Breaks provide Boise State students the opportunity to learn about community dynamics while becoming a catalyst for collaborative social change. “Commitment to Community” was a unique spring break experience for students who wanted to make a difference by starting at the local level. Students spent their week with organizations and programs seeking to better our city and the people who live here. They volunteered with local nonprofits, met with Boise city leaders and, along with two students from the Boise State Refugee Alliance, engaged in a curated tour of the Treefort Music Festival’s focus on purpose, accountability and sustainability.
