Michaela Johnson, a junior studying biology at Boise State with an emphasis in ecology, evolution and behavior, poses for a photo with George, the resident Great Basin Gopher snake at the MK Nature Center. Johnson works at the MK Nature Center as part of the Federal Community Work-Study Program through Boise State’s service-learning program.
The program encourages community service work that is related to a student’s course of study. The positions offer high-level and high-impact professional development so students can build their network and resume, while getting the experience they need to secure professional work after graduation.
