Vanessa Fry, assistant director of the Idaho Policy Institute, recently was recognized as the featured AmeriCorps alumni in the 2017 Serve Idaho Annual Report. Serve Idaho, Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter’s commission on volunteerism, exists to inspire service to build a better Idaho.
Fry served as an AmeriCorps member in 2002 while working at the Environmental Resource Center in Ketchum. As noted in the report, Fry’s career has focused on giving back to the community. In addition to her work as an AmeriCorps member, she led Idaho’s first county-wide open space initiative in Blaine County, has done work with the City of Boise on financing solutions for homelessness, and conducted a review and analysis of the Vista neighborhood’s pre-K program.
