Advising and Academic Support Center hosts advisor summit

The Advising and Academic Support Center recently hosted over 140 academic advising and student support professionals from post-secondary institutions across the region for the Boise State Student Support and Advisor Summit. The event theme was “Guidance, Resilience, Outreach, Wellness.” First launched in 2020, the 2025 summit continued to expand its audience, bringing together both academic advisors and student support professionals from across eight institutions.

Summit attendees included representatives from the College of Western Idaho, the College of Southern Idaho, Treasure Valley Community College, North Idaho College, Idaho State University, University of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene University and Boise State, allowing for networking and sharing of best practices to support students in their transition between different types of institutions.

The keynote address was offered by Fabiola Juarez-Coca, director of concurrent enrollment at Boise State. Under her leadership, the program offers quality concurrent credit classes to thousands of students in Idaho. Juarez-Coca has helped create policies and implement best practices for concurrent enrollment at the national and state level as a board member of the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships.

The 2025 Boise State Student Support and Advisor Summit provided attendees with meaningful opportunities to enhance their work in helping students thrive. The continued growth and success of the event underscore the importance of partnerships across Idaho institutions in ensuring a seamless and supportive academic journey for all students.
