The College of Innovation and Design and the College of Engineering’s School of Computing, in collaboration with In Time Tec, are launching Season three of MashUp, a speaker series that brings together experts from vastly different fields for engaging and thought-provoking discussions.
The first session, MashUp: Booms and Busts of the Technological Frontier, will take place from 5-6:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 on the second floor of Albertsons Library in The SPACE. This season’s theme, “Booms and Busts,” examines the cycles of innovation, progress, and challenges at the intersection of technology and human experience.
This session will feature Steve Swanson, former NASA astronaut, who will share insights from his time in space, alongside Josh Johnston, an AI and cybersecurity specialist, who will explore the rapidly evolving digital landscape. Although these topics may seem unrelated, audience members will be challenged to find unexpected connections between them through interactive discussions and a Q&A session.
MashUp events are free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to hear from leading experts, engage in interdisciplinary dialogue, and connect with Boise State’s vibrant intellectual community. Seating is limited, and attendees are encouraged to reserve a free ticket in advance. For more information and to register, visit the event website.
