Vanessa Fry, director of Idaho Policy Institute and associate research professor in the School of Public Service, was quoted in a recently published book, “Rebuilding the American Town – Design and Strategy at a Small Scale” by David Gamble and Patty Heyda. The book is a sequel to “Rebuilding the American City: Design and Strategy for the 21st Century Core“(2015). The first book featured large urban design and planning projects that were catalysts for transforming major downtown areas. The new book focuses on smaller communities that implemented creative design strategies for rebuilding in vibrant and equitable ways, based on their respective population sizes. Fry contributed her expertise on housing, growth and development in Idaho and the intermountain west during an interview with the book’s authors.
