Boise State’s human resources and workforce strategy office is unveiling an enhanced Telecommuting Arrangement form to improve the approval process and collect necessary information. The new form is required for all classified and professional staff currently telecommuting or making a new request. The deadline for telecommuting employees to submit this new form is Sept. 6, 2024.
Existing telecommuting arrangements need to be reapproved annually, with renewal reminders sent at the start of each calendar year. Faculty working entirely off-campus also require approval through the form.
“It’s important to collect better data to ensure compliance with regulations, laws and taxes,” said Bill Brady, chief human resources officer. “This new form will help us better understand and manage telecommuting at Boise State.”
Under Idaho’s Division of Human Resources policy, no more than 20% of classified staff can work remotely on any given day. Human Resources will monitor telecommuting arrangements and may need to discuss adjustments with departments exceeding the daily cap.
The university is finalizing a revised telecommuting policy 7600, which will provide further guidance in the coming months. For more details about the new form, read the new telecommuting arrangement memo or email telecommuting@boisestate.edu.
