College football season is on the horizon and the university is finalizing plans for Homecoming and Parent and Family Weekend Sept. 30-Oct. 6. The weeklong festivities will include events and activities open to everyone, culminating in the Boise State football team hosting Utah State on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Special family events will begin Oct. 4, and continue throughout the weekend. Included among the activities is the annual homecoming parade on Friday, Oct. 4. The procession of blue and orange will be followed by a pep rally at DeChevrieux Field, where fans can join coaches and athletes in celebration. Fans are invited to nominate a parade grand marshal or enter a float to join the parade.
Other events include the Distinguished Alumni Awards Gala, Homecoming and Parent and Family tailgate and Bronco spirit contests. Homecoming week also will bring groups recognizing anniversaries and reunions to campus, including the 50th anniversary of Buster Bronco. A growing list of activities and details about how to purchase tickets and participate is available at boisestate.edu/homecoming.
Boise State will face Utah State on Oct. 5 at Albertsons Stadium. Tickets for the game will go on sale to the general public on July 23 at BroncoSports.com/tickets.
