In partnership with the College of Education, the Boise State Children’s Center will open a new kindergarten classroom for fall 2024.
This developmentally appropriate kindergarten program will be housed in the Boise State Children’s Center and guided by National Association for the Education of Young Children Kindergarten Accreditation standards. Children enrolled in this program will engage in project-based learning with literacy, math, arts, science and humanities thoughtfully woven throughout the day.
Led by a state of Idaho licensed teacher with support from student teachers from Boise State’s College of Education Early and Special Education Blended Degree Program and Elementary Education Degree Program, the highly qualified teachers will meet children and families where they are and support them in building capacities for life long thinking and learning. With a small class size, capped at 12 children, teachers will provide significant one-on-one attention to all children.
The kindergarten class will operate mid-August through the Friday before Memorial Day. Following that, children will be moved into the center’s summer school age program.
The cost for kindergarten will be $650 per month regardless of affiliation with Boise State. Tuition will be charged from September to May. A prorated tuition will be charged for August. An annual fee of $50 will be charged in addition to tuition in August. The annual fee will be given to the teacher to use for a classroom budget. Aftercare will be available for an additional $150 per month.
Families will provide all meals and snacks.
Children who are five by September 1, 2024, and have a parent affiliated with Boise State (faculty, staff or student) are eligible to enroll. Those wishing to learn more about the kindergarten classroom can complete an interest form.
