Ruth Salter, a lecturer in the Department of English Literature, recently earned a Certificate in Interfaith Leadership from Interfaith America by completing coursework and attending The Interfaith Leadership Summit in Chicago. The summit is “the largest gathering of students and educators with a commitment to American religious pluralism,” attracting hundreds of people from across the United States who care about building bridges between people of various faiths and worldviews in our diverse society. Certificate holders hone skills in religious literacy, interfaith dialogue, and civil discourse, which Ruth will use to enrich the University Foundations 200 and literature courses she teaches.
