Assistant Professor Kate Doyon was featured on the cover of the most recent issue of the Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing. Doyon is one of six nurses chosen to represent the national Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association on the cover this year.
Doyon is an active nurse educator and researcher, teaching in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Boise State. Her work focuses on communication interventions to mitigate health equity, such as her project developing a communication guide for clinicians working with seriously-ill refugees.
An active member of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association, Doyon is co-chair of the Emerging Scholars Research interest group and a member of the Research Advisory Council and the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging task force. She most recently joined the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center’s exam development committee.
Over 10,000 nurses across the nation are members of the Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association and receive the journal.
