Michelle Tassinari, assistant dean of students for outreach and prevention in the Office of the Dean of Students, presented a session at the 2023 Higher Education Case Manager’s Association Conference in Portland, Oregon.
The session, “Post-hospitalization support: A case manager’s role in suicide prevention,” reviewed current data, theory and recommendations for establishing a student post-hospitalization protocol as a suicide prevention strategy on college campuses. Her work on Boise State’s post-hospitalization support is one of Boise State’s many efforts to support the emotional well-being of all students and foster a thriving campus community through partnership with the JED Foundation, which is a nonprofit that works to protect the emotional health and prevent suicide of teens and young adults in the U.S.
