COVID-19 updates: Changes to at-home test reimbursement and new booster eligibility

Insurance benefits for no cost at-home COVID-19 tests ending soon

Until May 11, 2023, campus community members covered under the state’s health plan who purchase FDA-authorized at-home tests will still be able to submit a claim form, with a receipt, for reimbursement to Blue Cross of Idaho. At-home rapid tests for COVID-19 will no longer be covered by most insurance plans after May 11, 2023.

Tests can be purchased online, at any standard network pharmacy or in stores. Purchases are limited to no more than eight tests per enrolled member, per calendar month. Visit the State of Idaho Office of Group Insurance’s website for more information and for the COVID-19 test reimbursement form.

Boise State public health also continues to offer students and staff on-campus COVID testing. To report COVID-19 symptoms, exposures or a positive case, contact Boise State public health at publichealth@boisestate.edu or (208) 426-2968.
