Insurance benefits for no cost at-home COVID-19 tests ending soon
Until May 11, 2023, campus community members covered under the state’s health plan who purchase FDA-authorized at-home tests will still be able to submit a claim form, with a receipt, for reimbursement to Blue Cross of Idaho. At-home rapid tests for COVID-19 will no longer be covered by most insurance plans after May 11, 2023.
Tests can be purchased online, at any standard network pharmacy or in stores. Purchases are limited to no more than eight tests per enrolled member, per calendar month. Visit the State of Idaho Office of Group Insurance’s website for more information and for the COVID-19 test reimbursement form.

Additional COVID-19 booster doses available for certain individuals
Additional COVID-19 booster doses for for adults ages 65 years and older and people who are immunocompromised are available. Individuals 65 years of age and older who have received a single dose of a bivalent vaccine may receive one additional dose at least four months following their initial bivalent dose. Most individuals with certain kinds of immunocompromises who have received a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine may receive a single additional dose of a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine at least two months following a dose of a bivalent COVID-19 vaccine, and additional doses may be administered at the discretion of, and at intervals determined by, their healthcare provider.
