The university is hosting a nonperishable food drive to benefit the Campus Food Pantry through Saturday, Nov. 5, when fans can bring items to Albertsons Stadium, starting at 1 p.m., until kickoff of the Boise State football game against BYU.
Fans can drop off their nonperishable food items at the Boise State marked box truck that will be positioned in the Ford Fan Zone, located outside the stadium near the southwest gates.
“The Campus Food Pantry was created by students for students in need,” said Michelle Cain, student basic needs case manager at the Campus Food Pantry. “This nonperishable food drive will provide a needed lift and directly impact those students facing food insecurity.” In September 2022, the pantry had more than 4,000 student visits.
Nonperishable items range from snacks and grab-n-go items to macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, cereal, canned goods, white rice, and instant rice meals. A complete list of needed items can be found in the donations section of the pantry’s website.
Faculty and staff can participate in the food drove even if they are not planning to attend the football game. Donations can be delivered to the Campus Food Pantry during their business hours: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. The pantry is located in Campus School, Room 103.
The BYU Alumni Boise Chapter and surrounding BYU chapters are also holding a canned food drive to benefit the Boise State Campus Food Pantry.
More information, including how to make a cash donation, can be found on the Campus Food Pantry website.
