Cheryl Oestreicher, professor and head of special collections and archives at Albertsons Library, was elected as the Regent for Examination Development for the Academy of Certified Archivists. The Academy of Certified Archivists is a national, independent, nonprofit organization that sets standards for professional certification. Eligibility requirements include education and experience.
This certification recognizes an archivist’s core knowledge, and understanding of archival theory and best practices. As Regent for Examination Development, Oestreicher leads the Examination Development Committee. Her responsibilities include evaluating, monitoring and overseeing revision of the examination for certified archivists. This ensures its accuracy, comprehensiveness and appropriateness.
