Casita Nepantla and the Student Equity Center celebrate LatinX Heritage Month by hosting a presentation by Emily Wakild and María Cárdenas González on their book, “Nosotras: Celebrating and Understanding Latinas’ Contributions to Idaho.”
The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 29 in the Bishop Barnwell Room in the Student Union. It is free and open to the public.
Wakild is a professor of history and the director of environmental studies in the School of Public Service. Cárdenas González is a former college counselor in the College Assistance Migrant Program at Boise State. Their book is a collection of interviews with Latinas who live in Idaho. The interviews, or testimonios, describe the many contributions Latinx women have made to their communities and the state.
