In a post for the London School of Economics American Politics and Policy blog, Luke Fowler, associate professor and faculty director of public policy and administration, and Jeffrey Lyons, associate professor of political science and the political science program lead, analyzed Republican support for a mask mandate in Idaho. Fowler and Lyons found that Democrats are overwhelmingly supportive of mask mandates regardless of enforcement. Republican support falls significantly when such mandates are enforced through the issuing of fines or making arrests.
