A new associate editor for The Idaho Review

The Idaho Review has announced the promotion of Natanya Biskar to the position of associate editor of the journal. Biskar is currently a third-year student in fiction in the MFA program in Creative Writing. She has served on the staff of The Idaho Review for two years. In her new role as associate editor, Biskar will oversee submissions received during the journal’s fall and spring reading periods. Her other duties include managing the journal’s social media accounts and website. During the production phase for the upcoming issue, Biskar will edit and proof the issue with Mitch Wieland, editor-in-chief.

“Natanya has proved herself to be an editor of exceptional talent and unflagging dedication. She has an amazing eye for discovering the real gems submitted to the journal, and her keen editorial skills are first-rate. Over the last two years, Natanya has also led our ongoing campaign for inclusiveness and diversity,” Wieland said.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Biskar was an elementary teacher for over 10 years before coming to Boise State. Her short story, “I’m Hungry If You Are,” has just been published in the latest issue of Subtropics.

Founded in 1998, The Idaho Review is the annual literary journal of Boise State’s MFA in Creative Writing. The journal has had 13 stories selected for reprint in national prize anthologies including The Best American Short Stories, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and The Pushcart Prize.

During the current reading period, The Idaho Review will consider unsolicited submissions until March 15. For full submission guidelines, or to submit a manuscript online via Submittable, visit: idahoreview.org. For more information, contact Mitch Wieland.
