Dr. Ed Whipple will serve as Boise State’s interim Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, beginning July 7.
Whipple served as Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students at Willamette University from June 2016-May 2020. He previously served as Vice President for Student Affairs at Bowling Green State University and Eastern Montana College (now Montana State University-Billings).
“Dr. Whipple has 26 years of experience as a vice president for student affairs,” said Dr. Marlene Tromp, Boise State president. “He is a visionary and strategic leader who cares deeply about student success. His leadership will be invaluable during the coming academic year as we seek to enrich, support and expand each student’s college experience.”
Whipple holds a Ph.D. in College Student Services Administration from Oregon State University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Willamette University.
A national search for a permanent replacement will launch during the academic year.
