Tomas Baiza, director, Advising and Academic Support, recently received top honors in the Bacopa Literary Review’s annual literary competition.
In Baiza’s story “Huitzilin,” a young woman contends with the challenges of assimilation, alienation from her Mexican father, and the Aztec tradition of warriors reincarnated into hummingbirds. The story was selected from over a thousand entries to be featured in the international publication’s 2021 issue which will appear in September.
