Another Boise State staff member has pedaled their way to the milestone of commuting over 10,000 miles by bicycle.
Paul Davis, a lab engineer in the Micron School of Materials Science and Engineering, has worked at the university for nine years. In that time, he has exclusively used a bicycle as transport to and from work, logging over 12,000 miles of commuting.
From planning and logistics, like having a week’s worth of clothes and access to a shower at his office, to specialized equipment like insulated shoe and hand covers that keep him warm and dry in the winter months, Davis is committed to riding to work instead of driving his car. “It’s better for my wallet, my waistline and the environment,” he said.
As a member of the 10K Bicycle Commuter Club, the Cycle Learning Center provides Davis, and all club members, with free tune ups, discounts on gear, and parking codes for days when it is necessary to drive to campus.
