Brian Wampler, a professor of global studies and political science in the School of Public Service, published an article, Of Democratic Governance and Revenue: Participatory institutions and tax generation in Brazil, in Governance, a leading political science and public administration academic journal.
Michael Touchton from the University of Miami and Tiago Peixoto from the World Bank co-authored the article.
Wampler also participated remotely in a workshop in Paris, France on Nov. 23. Wampler presented a paper titled The Arc of a democratic innovation: The creation, spread, and decline of Brazil’s Participatory Budgeting.
Ben Goldfrank from Seton Hall University is co-authoring the paper. The authors will revise it for publication.
