The active transportation group, part of the department of public safety, has recently applied for platinum status as a Bicycle Friendly University through the League of American Bicyclists’ program. The Bicycle Friendly University program recognizes institutions of higher education for promoting and providing a more bikeable campus for students, staff and visitors.
The university is currently recognized at the gold level, one rank below platinum, the highest available distinction.
To supplement their application and to help the selection committee understand a bicyclists’ experiences on campus, the group is asking the campus community to complete a survey about bicycling at Boise State. The survey will close on Monday, Nov. 30.
The input received through the survey will help inform the final award decision, and will also be included in the feedback report Boise State will receive after the award announcement. This feedback will help guide program growth and improvement of active transportation infrastructure for the future.
