Boise State University’s eCampus Center services, previously offered as part of the Quality Instruction Program(eQIP), are changing to better meet the needs of the campus community. The center’s new offerings include a structured and guided approach to help faculty design online courses, and a diverse array of faculty development workshops.
Over the past several years, almost 400 faculty have partnered with the eCampus Center to either create online courses, online programs, or to learn about best practices for teaching online.
Course Design and Development
The new Course Design and Development experience is a 14-week long process that begins every seven weeks, near the beginning and middle of each semester.
The new process is a unified approach that offers the same instructional design services for all online courses. An instructional design consultant will help faculty members conceptualize, design and develop their online courses. As online learning experts, they also can suggest improvements to make the online course a positive experience for Boise State students.
Faculty should plan to spend approximately eight hours each week while designing and developing a three-credit course. Stipends may be available to compensate faculty for their time when participating in this process.
Openings are available for the upcoming summer and fall semesters. For additional details or to sign up to design and develop a course in partnership with the eCampus Center, please visit the course development page of the eCampus Center website.
