Electrical and computer engineering department professor Elisa Barney Smith and doctoral student Nishatul Majid presented at the 2019 International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition in Sydney, Australia.
They presented a paper on “Segmentation-Free Bangla Offline Handwriting Recognition using Sequential Detection of Characters and Diacritics with a Faster R-CNN” at the main conference and “Performance Comparison of Scanner and Camera-Acquired Data for Bangla Offline Handwriting Recognition” at the affiliated Conference on Camera-Based Document Analysis and Recognition.
